Happy New Year! A happy and healthy year filled with opportunities for you and to expand your table to include others.
Tortilla Bowl Party Night
Foodie Lit
Making food together is a great activity for families and guests on New Year’s Eve. How much fun is it to place fajitas, tacos or burritos cups on a plate and then fill them as your heart desires. Family and guests will just love the variety and choices.
What a great party night for adults or kids. Everyone can help. Depending on the age of kids, different levels of supervision will be needed. Children as young as 5 can help place food in dishes and certainly most above 10 can wash, peel or grate. Bring your family together around the table!
Use all categories for a party night. For a family night, select a category or a few favorites from the list. Try different breads or wrappings as suggested below. Recipe below.
Douglas Carlyle told me, ““Cat has been through a lot. She suffers from PTSD which will become a big part of the plot in the next novel. All of this creates a woman who won’t take any crap from anybody, has more than a little trouble respecting authority, takes risks without hesitation, and has trouble with commitment. She also has a good sense as to who is good and who is not.”
But is she willing to risk her life to be written into a murder mystery series that has racked up 18 murders?

Burritos: Add your choices to a burrito. Fold in sides and roll tightly.
Fajitas, Fajita Cups or Pita: Fill the cups with your choices.
Italian/French Bread: Instead of a taco, pile your choices on a long slice of Italian bread slightly hollowed out. Cut into 4-5” pieces for ease of eating.
Lettuce cups: Save the carbs and use an entire lettuce leaf instead of the bread.
Bell Peppers: Cut off tops. Remove seeds and fibrous parts. Fill with desired ingredients, except lettuce. Place in 400F oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and add toppings.
